Human Resources Manager

HILGARTWILSON, a multi-disciplined Civil Engineering, Survey, Planning, Environmental, and Construction Management firm, is seeking a Human Resources Manager to join our growing team.  This position designs, plans and implements the company’s human resource programs and policies to align with business objectives, consults with executive management on strategic planning, and serves as a link between the organization’s management and its employees.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans and leads all HR processes and initiatives in the functional areas of onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, culture, development, compensation and wellness
  • Helps to bridge management and employee relations by serving in a consultative role providing coaching, guidance, and sound judgement in addressing business or employee challenges and needs
  • Key contact for employees and managers related to people and HR process, programs, and procedures
  • Supports current and future business needs through the regular promotion of development, engagement, motivation, and retention of people
  • Champions and protects organizational culture, actively seeking ways to promote and support our culture within programs, processes, and people connections
  • Leads employee relations investigations, leveraging support of other resources as needed
  • Provides thorough and reliable guidance and support in performance management and disciplinary processes
  • Oversee established development programs, and design new development initiatives as directed by Training Leadership
  • Develop and report HR metrics and people trends, utilizing data to support ideas and solutions
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance is met throughout HR activities
  • Regularly connects with managers to deepen HR partnership, understand team culture, and assist with team effectiveness
  • Research, develop, create, and implement HR strategies and practices catering to a fast-paced, rapidly growing company
  • Provide guidance and leadership to small HR team

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of exempt level HR experience
  • Professional certification preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport, develop relationships and establish credibility and trust
  • Superior attention to detail, prioritization, and organizational skills, with ability to multi-task
  • Excellent active listening, consultative, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Experience in Architecture, Engineering, Construction (AEC) industry a plus
