Moon Valley Pump Station & Pipeline

Moon Valley Pump Station & Pipeline

Our Water Resources Team completed the design of this pump station and water main that will transfer water from the Arizona Canal north to the Moon Valley Country Club, Cave Creek Golf Course, and Lookout Mountain Golf Course. It sits on North 25th Avenue between the canal and Rose Mofford Park in Phoenix. Previously irrigated with potable water, the country club and golf courses are freeing up potable water for the city by using raw water as a less expensive alternative.

The 2,500 gpm pump station includes four canned vertical turbine pumps, booster pump control valves, and a hydropneumatic tank. The pipeline, spanning approximately 25,000 l.f., or 6 miles, of 12″ and 16″ pipe, was built through a fully developed portion of Phoenix. An electronic control valve helps regulate flow by using the information sent by the flow meter at each lake. Now that it is fully constructed, the pump station and pipeline will be owned and operated by the City of Phoenix.
