BARNEY FARMS PUMP STATION AND STORAGE TANK

• Pre-stressed concrete tank with vertical tendons wrapped with high strength steel cable
• 3.0 MG partially-buried concrete tank
• 2 booster pump stations

The concrete tank gains its strength by pre-stressing the walls with vertical tendons and wrapping the tank in a high strength steel cable (in lieu of using rebar in the walls).

Although higher in initial capital cost, the all-concrete construction requires little to no maintenance over the life of the tank, which is expected to be upwards of 100 years.
